Exchange 2010 heeft een mooie wizard voor het aanmaken/ aanvragen van een certificaat, helaas kun je deze wizard niet altijd gebruiken…

Een vernieuwing van Exchange 2010 waar je minder vaak over hoort is Single Item Recovery. Wat Single Item Recovery is bewaar ik voor een andere keer, daarover heeft Ross Smith IV van het Exchange team een hele fraaie blogpost geschreven: Single Item Recovery in Exchange Server 2010.

Wanneer je een (langdurige) transitie ingaat van Microsoft Exchange 2003 naar Microsoft Exchange 2010 dan wil je dit het liefst doen met zo weinig mogelijk hinder voor je eindgebruikers. Wanneer we bijvoorbeeld kijken naar de toegang tot webmail dan is het meest ideale scenario dat je voor al je eindgebruikers (gemigreerd naar Exchange 2010 of niet) dezelfde URL kunt aanbieden. In een transitie van Exchange 2003 naar Exchange 2010 is dit mogelijk door een zogenaamde ‘legacy’ redirect die Exchange 2010 uitvoert.

I previously wrote about Virtual PC, off course we all know that this is the solution for a single PC environment. So how about the Enterprise needs ? Can Virtual PC help you use that application that only runs on Windows XP but in a Enterprise environment ? Yes this is possible with Med-V from Microsoft. Basically this still is Virtual PC but with some extra’s like:

Now that Windows 7 is on the market, people are switching to this new Operating System from Microsoft. The hardware you can buy nowadays is very powerfull and equipped with lots of memory. Even the 64 bit version of Windows 7 is a very good choice to work with, because of the capability to use more memory than the “normal” version of Windows 7. But one thing is a real headache for most of the people and that is application compatibility, at least they think it is. Luckily Microsoft invented Windows XP mode for that !
